Camp Fire Minnesota in Excelsior, Minnesota

Katie & Dan’s Camp Fire Minnesota Wedding Day was a true Minnesota day. Rain, sun, these two had it all. But, they didn’t stop a little rain from them having the best day ever!

The Engagement

Katie and Dan both proposed to each other on a hike in Banff National Park last year! They carried around their notes and rings on all of their hikes, waiting for the right time. They ended up hiking to a secluded point with a few of the Saskatchewan Glacier and decided that was the spot! Afterwards, they went back to their campsite and celebrated with (and their words exactly) “rice beans, and moldy cheese. It was perfect”

Katie and Dan definitely are the type of couple to ‘go with the flow’ and not let rain, or any other hiccups they may have encountered the week of their wedding stop them from remembering what was truly most important – getting married!

A little fun fact – my brother and his now wife got married at Camp Fire Minnesota in 2018, so I was thrilled to see Katie + Dan’s inquiry when it came through as they were getting married at the same venue! Our lead coordinator, Lynnette, was there the day of as I was booked at another wedding this day. The venue sure has done quite a few updates since my brother’s wedding in 2018, including a whole new reception hall!

We loved how Katie + Dan made their wedding day their own, without having to follow normal traditions.
