Emalee & Zak’s Essence Event Center Wedding was one of the most stunning fall days! The colors on the leaves were just right and the weather wasn’t too chilly – a perfect day for a wedding!
Emalee and Zak were highschool sweethearts – meeting in their sophomore year of band class. They grew up together and it made them grow closer together!
The Engagement
On a typical Friday night, Zak and Emalee decided to go out for dinner in Wayzata. They parked down the street from the restaurant and walked along the lake. Since it was December, Zak suggested they go walk and look at the Christmas lights. It was then he got down on one knee and proposed! They went to dinner after and celebrated all their years together. On October 7, 2023, they would then tie the knot after dating almost 9 years at the Essence Event Center.
The Wedding
Emalee + Zak’s color scheme at the Essence Event Center was burnt orange with dark greens – a perfect color scheme for a fall wedding! They wanted their wedding to have a modern and classy feel but have an overfall feeling of romance, which they absolutely accomplished.
The bridesmaids were in terraccota dresses with the groomsmen in dark grey suits. Emalee wanted her wedding to feel like a fall wedding, and she accomplished just that with the color scheme and decor they chose!
The Venue
We have to take a minute to highlight the Essence Event Center as it is one of our absolute favorite venues to work at. The venue is well thought out, not only from a wedding vendor standpoint but also for the couple. They have 2 very large getting ready suites, with a kitchen area in between with plenty of room. My favorite part is having a separate dance area from the reception/dinner room. They have in house lighting and sound which makes set up for the DJ much easier and overall dance quite the vibe! The staff is amazing and always willing to do what is needed without hesitation, and we truly enjoy every wedding we have at The Essence Event Center.
Our Services
When Emalee + Zak inquired with us, they were looking for someone to help their day go smooth at the Essence Event Center. Emalee loved planning the wedding and the details, and had most of their vendors booked, but really wanted someone she could work with to ensure they had everything needed in place. They chose our wedding management package and we jumped in with them a few months prior to their wedding day to help tie up their vision and execute the perfect day!
