We recently had the honor to coordinate Shannon and Emily’s Windows at Marquette Wedding in Minneapolis! This wedding was truly one-of-a-kind, with a galaxy-inspired theme and unique touches including their dog!
A Proposal Among Friends
Shannon and Emily’s journey to the altar began with a proposal story that could rival any romantic movie. Shannon popped the question during Pride at the Saloon, right near the spot where they first met and then reconnected years later. Emily, absorbed in her phone, was completely surprised when Shannon got down on one knee amidst the bustling block party. The world seemed to blur around them as Shannon asked, “Will you marry me?” Emily’s enthusiastic “Yes, you jerk” was met with cheers from their friends, who had secretly gathered to witness the magical moment. It was a perfect prelude to their extraordinary wedding day.
A Winter Wonderland
Their wedding day in January was nothing short of magical. Despite the winter chill, the atmosphere inside the Windows at Marquette was warm and inviting. The venue was transformed into a celestial dreamscape, with a color palette inspired by the galaxy and northern lights. Blues, greens, purples, and black created a dark, moody, yet vibrant ambiance. The space was adorned with twinkle lights, candles, stars, and moons, creating an enchanting backdrop for their celebration.
Fashion Forward
Shannon and Emily chose to wear colored wedding dresses, perfectly complementing their cosmic theme. Their wedding party looked stunning in all-black attire, allowing the couple’s vibrant dresses to truly stand out. The unique color choices and elegant yet playful style reflected their personalities and their vision for a classy yet fun wedding.
Cordelia the Corgi
A special guest at the ceremony was their beloved corgi, Cordelia. She added an extra layer of joy and cuteness to the proceedings, participating in the ceremony and posing for photos. Cordelia’s presence was a testament to Shannon and Emily’s love for their furry family member and added a heartfelt touch to their day.
A Drag Show Extravaganza
One of the standout moments of the day was the drag show during the cocktail hour. It was a lively and entertaining surprise for their guests, adding a unique and memorable element to the celebration. The performances were not only a reflection of the couple’s vibrant personalities but also an homage to their shared love for fun and inclusivity.

It was an honor to step into that role, managing every detail and allowing them to focus on what mattered most – their love and commitment to each other.
