Doing coordination and content creation for Katy and Nick’s wedding was an absolute joy! Their special day at the Nine Mile Brewing wedding venue in Bloomington, Minneapolis, was one to remember. This couple’s journey to the altar was filled with sweet surprises and beautiful moments, and I’m thrilled to share their story!
The Engagement
Katy and Nick’s engagement story is one of my favorites. Nick had planned several date activities the week leading up to the proposal, which made Katy start to wonder if something special was coming. On May 15th, Nick asked Katy to go for a walk around Normandale Lake after work. This was the place where they first met and had their first date, making it the perfect spot for this life-changing moment.
As they walked around the lake, Nick carried his camelback, which he usually wore for long hikes. Katy thought it was odd for a simple walk, but she went along with it. After their first lap, Nick suggested another, and they found a bench by a small inlet. Sitting down, Nick suggested they take a selfie, which wasn’t unusual for them. After their photo, Nick unzipped his camelback and revealed a ring box. Despite having some suspicions, Katy was still shocked and overjoyed when Nick asked her to marry him. Of course, she said yes!
The Wedding at Nine Mile Brewing
Fast forward to their wedding day, the weather had us on our toes. Rain threatened to dampen the spirits, but it cleared up just in time for the ceremony, leaving behind a magical atmosphere. The rain actually made for some stunning photos that added a touch of romance and serenity to the day. The ceremony at Maetzold Amphitheater was intimate and heartwarming, with friends and family gathered to witness Katy and Nick’s vows.
The reception at 9 Mile Brewing was a true reflection of Katy and Nick’s laid-back, mingling style. They chose this venue for its relaxed atmosphere, perfect for a wedding without a DJ. The brewery’s space provided a cozy and casual setting for guests to chat, laugh, and celebrate the newlyweds.
Their chosen color palette of dusty rose, cream, and navy was inspired by some beautiful decor they had found. These colors complemented the brewery’s rustic charm perfectly, creating a warm and inviting ambiance. The decorations were simple yet elegant, allowing the natural beauty of the venue to shine through.

“Hanna and her team knocked it out of the park for our wedding. We selected the day of coordination (wedding day management). They handled vendor communication, creating a timeline, keeping the day flowing as it should, decorating the reception, as well as tear down at the end of the night, and everything in between. Brooke and Tina made the whole day flow so well. Hanna handled the content creation for us. We didn’t want a videographer but we did want to capture some moments of the day so the content creation was the perfect option for us. Hanna was so great. She took pictures and videos for 8 hours. And by 8am the next day, she had sent us all 615 files. Not only does her work speak for itself, Hanna is just an all around amazing person and she was a delight to work with. I was stunned by the turnaround. So very happy with our pick to go with Hanna’s team as they made sure everything was taken care of and I had no worries for our big day! I couldn’t recommend them enough.”
