Emily & Jonathan had a gorgeous October Camp Fire Minnesota Wedding! The weather was absolutely perfect and the fall colors couldn’t have been better!

The Engagement

Jon came to visit Emily and planned a day of kayaking and picnicking on the chain of lakes. During a lunch picnic, Jon poorly distracted Emily while wrestling in a bag for the ring. Emily gave Jon the opportunity to do a bird mating dance for her (they had been observing some silly birds). He sadly did not take the opportunity, but proposed instead! Jon had planned a surprise get together with family afterwards to celebrate. It was the perfect day!

The Venue

Camp Fire Minnesota is located in Excelsior, Minnesota and features a new community and dining center which was built in 2020. (Fun fact: my brother got married here in 2018 so this venue will always hold a special place in my heart!) The property features a beautiful landscape with many trees and wildlife, and is also along a lakeshore where you can go canoeing (my absolute favorite part of Emily + Jon’s day)! The community and dining center can accommodate up to 150 guests, and features floor-to-ceiling windows that help maintain a close connection to nature. The venue also offers rustic cabins for overnight lodging. 

The Wedding

Emily & Jonathan chose their October Camp Fire Minnesota Wedding based on their love of the outdoors. They wanted a venue that was naturally beautiful so their decor would be minimal. Truly, they wanted their guests to feel comfortable and be able to appreciate the woods and natural beauty of their venue, with having the ceremony outside and reception inside. They focused on minimal flowers and candles for their reception decor, as they wanted the focus to be on them and the reason for the day. 

Our Services

Emily & Jon were looking for someone who was a clear communicator, had experience at their venue, was a good listener, and knew what questions to ask. Ultimately, they wanted to be present as much as they could for each and every minute. They wanted to feel all the warm and fuzzies from getting to marry each other and having all of their loved ones around to celebrate with. 

They went with our wedding management package which was perfect to get them through the last few months of wedding planning. We worked with Emily & Jon to create a timeline, finalize all their wedding details, and communicate with all vendors. On the day of the wedding, we were on site to manage the timeline, set up and tear down their personal decor, and make sure all the wedding details were perfect!

We loved being a part of their special day and always love being back at Camp Fire Minnesota! Congrats Emily & Jon!
